ADMISSIONS
Admissions to the MBBS Programme are strictly made on merit under the guidelines
laid down by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.
Students from all provinces of Pakistan and overseas may apply. Applicants must
be able to demonstrate competence in English comprehension and expression, both
written and oral.
Eligibility:
• At least 60 percent marks in Intermediate (Pre – Medical) or
• At least C grade in British G.C.E, A Level Biology and Chemistry plus third
subject preferably Physics or Mathematics, or
• Grade 12 diploma together with SAT II score of 700 in biology, chemistry and
third subject preferably Physics or Mathematics. A language other than Urdu /
English or any Social Science is also preferable, or
• Complete International Baccalaureate Diploma with Biology and Chemistry or
• First division in BSc degree examination with Biology and Chemistry at
Intermediate Level or equivalent.
• Minimum age limit of a candidate to apply is 17 years and maximum age limit is
25 years
Applications for Admission
Applications for admission to the first year of MBBS class will be accepted by
the specified date. Applications received after the closing date will not be
entertained. Detailed information regarding admissions is available on

The cost of prospectus is Rs.1000 for Pakistani and US$ 50 for overseas
applicants. It can be obtained from the Admission Office on cash payment in
person, or by a demand draft or money order if required by post in Pakistan. For
requests from overseas, a bank draft should be submitted in favor of University
Medical College. Before submitting applications, students must ensure that they
have complied with the instructions given in the application form.
Documents Required with Application
Eligible candidates for admission must submit attested copies of the following
documents along with the application forms:

Application Processing Fee
A non refundable application processing fee of Rs 2000/- for Pakistani applicants and US$ 50 for foreign applicants has to be submitted through cash, bank draft or pay order drawn in favor of University Medical College, at a designated branch of Habib Metropolitan Bank inside the College. The Admission Office will not process the applications which are received without the processing fee.
For applicants following system of education other than Pakistani Intermediate
These applications will be processed for final selection only if attested copies of certificates reach Admission Office before the Admission test.
Entry Test
All applicants residing in Pakistan are required to take the entry test irrespective of the curriculum of the system of education followed. The entry test is based on the current syllabus of the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) in Pakistan for English, Chemistry, Physics and Biology and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) for Mathematics.
Over Seas Candidates
Overseas Candidates (except those following Pakistani HSSC curriculum) who are unable to appear in University Medical College entry test in Pakistan, are required to appear in Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT1) or Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) as applicable. The minimum combined score requirements for SAT1 is 1250 and for MCAT is 24.
Final Selection of the candidate shall be made on the basis of Matriculation/ OLevel or Equivalent, FSc/ A Level/ Grade12, entry test and interview as follows:

Procedure for entry test and Interview
• Admit card will be issued to all the candidates for entry test within the
notified date
• Entry test will be held on the date, time and place, indicated on the admit
card.
Note: Incomplete applications will not be entertained.
Any change in the schedule of the Entry Test / Admission procedure will be
notified in national dailies.
Interview
• Candidates short listed through entry test will be interviewed and their
aptitude for medical education will be evaluated
• Candidates are required to bring original documents at the time of interview
which will be retained by the College till the completion of degree.
Admission application should be filled in by the candidate in her own hand writing. If any of the above certificates / documents are found false or forged, legal action will be taken against the candidate and her admission will be cancelled.
Fee Structure
1. The annual tuition and other dues charged from Pakistani students cover only
a fraction of the total cost of the MBBS program. University Medical College
reviews
its tuition and other dues annually to cover inflation and other costs.
2. Students must pay their dues within the period notified by the Registrar.
Student will not be enrolled unless she has paid the dues.
• Dues once paid by the student are not refundable at any
stage.
• Refundable dues will only be paid back to the student after
completion of the course.
• Applicants should seek clarification about fees\other dues
from Admission Office before applying.
• Students defaulting themselves due to non payment within
the due dates may be suspended and/ or barred from the classes and examination
until the clearance of dues in accordance with the Medical College policies and
procedures.
Examination Fee
A student will pay examination fee annually to the University of Health Sciences.
Affiliation with University of Health Sciences
University Medical College is affiliated with the University of Health Sciences.
All rules and regulations defined by the University of Health Sciences will be
applicable. Registration fee and annual charges for University of Health
Sciences will have to be paid by the students accordingly.
Note. Dues paid will not be refunded to a student whose admission is cancelled
due to fabricated or false documents, or is rusticated/expelled/removed from the
university roll for any reason, or she decides to discontinue her studies.
Initially all admissions will be provisional subject to the verification of
their documents by the concerned Boards/ Universities.
All the examinations are conducted by UHS, Lahore like other recognized Medical
College of Punjab.
After successful completelion of the MBBS degree course University of Health
Sciences, Lahore shall award the degree.
Procedure of Selection
Medical Fitness Requirements
Candidates will be examined at the time of admission by a Medical Board, to be
set up by the Principal. The candidates must be physically and mentally fit
according to the criteria for medical fitness/disability laid down by the
Admission Board.
Candidates must produce a certificate to have been:
• Inoculated against the enteric group of fevers within the preceding 12 months.
• Fully vaccinated against Tetanus and Hepatitis "B"
• Foreign students will have to produce a certificate of their HIV status from
prescribed laboratories in Pakistan. If during the course of studies any student
is found to be positive for HIV infection, she will be repatriated at her own
expenses.
Curriculum
The curriculum of the Medical Faculty has been developed to meet the demands of
modern medical practice. It is community oriented and problem based.
Under-graduate medical and surgical training is coordinated and supervised by
highly qualified staff, aware of the latest medical research and development.
The curriculum stresses on small group work relationship between students and
the faculty in accordance with the guidelines of Medical and Dental Council of
Pakistan as per requirements of the World Health Organization.
